Projects
Jasbel Energy has successfully delivered impactful energy projects across Africa. Some of our notable achievements include:
W4L+ PV Solar Mini Grids
– Ethiopia
The W4L+ PV Solar Mini Grids project, an initiative dedicated to bringing clean and sustainable energy to underserved communities, has successfully illuminated the lives of over 2,200 households across 18 communities in Ethiopia.
This remarkable achievement was made possible through a collaborative effort with the Ethiopian Ministry of Water and Energy and generous support from donor funding.
The project's infrastructure boasts an impressive 1.08 MWp of solar power generation capacity, ensuring a reliable and consistent energy supply. To further enhance the stability and availability of power, the system is equipped with 3.5 MWh of energy storage capacity, capable of storing excess energy generated during peak sunlight hours for use during periods of low solar irradiation or at night.
W4L+ Stand-Alone Solar Systems – Ethiopia
The W4L+ Stand-Alone Solar Systems project, an initiative focused on bolstering education and healthcare in Ethiopia, has successfully electrified 198 schools and health facilities across five districts.
By installing solar panels with a combined capacity of 1.03 MWp (megawatt-peak) and battery storage of 2.06 MWh (megawatt-hours), the project ensures a consistent and reliable power supply for these vital institutions.
This donor-backed project addresses the challenge of unreliable electricity access in remote areas, which often hinders the delivery of essential services. With a dependable power source, schools can now utilize technology for enhanced learning, while health facilities can safely store vaccines, operate medical equipment, and provide better lighting for patient care. The project's impact extends beyond immediate benefits, contributing to improved health outcomes, a more conducive learning environment, and overall community development.
RESPITE – Regional Emergency Solar Power Intervention – Sierra Leone
The RESPITE project, a major collaborative initiative by Jasbel Group and UNOPS, funded by the World Bank, is poised to transform the energy landscape of Sierra Leone.
Focusing on vital community infrastructure, the project aims to equip 404 schools and healthcare facilities with reliable and sustainable solar power systems, including both solar panels and battery storage.
By implementing a substantial 1.8 MWp of solar capacity and 6.7 MWh of battery storage, RESPITE will bolster essential services in the region. The project's primary goal is to ensure consistent access to safe, clean, and reliable electricity for these institutions. This improved access to power will directly enhance the quality of both education and healthcare services, leading to a significant positive impact on the lives of numerous Sierra Leoneans.
